Sunday Check-In: What Would Help You Feel Supported?

Before you make another list, notice where the week feels heavy—and choose one specific form of support that would make it gentler.

Support can sound like a big word when what you actually need may be very specific: one answer, one errand, one quiet hour, one clear boundary, or one person who follows through.

Name the weight before naming the solution

What are you carrying into this week? Is it too many decisions, unfinished work, emotional responsibility, a conversation you are avoiding, or the feeling that everyone is waiting for you to know what happens next?

Try to name the weight without judging yourself for feeling it. ‘I am overwhelmed by the number of details’ is more useful than ‘I should be able to handle this.’

Then ask what kind of support matches the actual need. Advice will not help if you need an errand completed. Encouragement may feel kind, but you may also need a deadline, a meal, a ride, or a task taken off your plate.

Make one request clear enough to answer

Choose one person and one specific request. ‘Can you pick this up by Thursday?’ ‘Can we talk for twenty minutes without trying to fix it?’ ‘Can you handle check-in while I welcome the room?’ Clear support is easier to give and easier to receive.

If asking another person is not the next step, support yourself through structure. Move one task. Say no to one extra thing. Put the information in one place. Give yourself the same clarity you try to give everybody else.

You do not need to solve the entire week today. You need one honest answer about what would help.

What would help you feel supported this week—and what is one clear request or adjustment you can make today?
